Mastering Powerful Conversations

Objectives:

The basic premise of the course lies on the foundational belief that we can listen and communicate more effectively when we are being “Response Able” as opposed to “Re-Active.” 

  • Understand how communication skills impact your business and personal relationships
  • Identify individual reactive patterns
  • Identify individual patterns of listening and communicating
  • Discover individual values and the importance of values in communication
  • Target areas of improvement
  • Learn to communicate responsibly while respecting yourself and others

  • Create and implement a common language in which to create mutual support

This course specifically addresses the details of communication breakdowns.  Failure to address why people miss deadlines, why poor communication can result in loss of clients and breakdowns result in excess time in which management needs to intervene in operations problems and mediation in dispute resolutions.

Description:

The training duration is 3 weeks.  One training each week for 3 weeks for approximately 4 hours.  Homework is assigned to keep the training moving forward and implementation of true change.  Homework is consistent with their work goals that they already have in front of them.  There will be interaction with assigned buddies in order to support each other in the homework and their work week.  The meetings between meeting with buddies will last for only 10 minutes as there is sensitivity to the already present workload.   Accountability for on going implementation of the course material is designed into the last week.
